I joined an organization which offers English lessons to children who study in an underprivileged environment. Many of the students live in Korea, so our lessons are conducted through Skype.
I was assigned to a middle school student named Jung Hye. At first she was shy and it was apparent that she did not feel comfortable speaking English. My first lesson, however, transformed her into a different person. I did some ice-breaking by introducing myself first and making jokes. Then, I taught her to introduce herself only using English. We covered some easy but crucial vocabulary in which Jung Hye had no problem understanding.
